NASHVILLE- A former Clarksville, Tennessee, school nurse pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court today to 25 counts of attempted production of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Mark H. Wildasin for the Central District of Tennessee.

Leon B. Hensley, 41, pleaded guilty before the start of a bench trial which was due to begin today.

Hensley, a former nurse at North East High School (NEHS) in Clarksville, was originally charged and arrested in May 2021, following an investigation into allegations that he texted a digital image of a naked adult woman to a minor woman. in the Clarksville area. Hensley had communicated with the minor via text message and asked her to help with a photo shoot by posing for photos.

A subsequent investigation and search of Hensley’s phone revealed several images depicting child sexual exploitation. During a subsequent search of Hensley’s home, numerous electronic devices were seized, including a small secret video camera. Initial examination of Hensley’s phone led to the discovery of nude images which were identified as underage NEHS students. The devices also contained image files depicting unidentified women in hospital rooms, airports and tanning beds, as well as video files that appeared to be upskirt videos of adult and underage women.

Several hundred images were also discovered of underage women using the facilities of a particular bathroom. The footage appears to have been taken by a hidden or concealed camera, which was positioned in front of the toilet seat at seat level, in an apparent attempt to capture the lewd and lascivious display of genitalia. Further investigation determined that the bathroom depicted in the footage was the students’ private bathroom in the NEHS nurse’s station. Geotagging data in other images showed some were taken at Tennova Hospital in Clarksville, where Hensley was employed prior to his NEHS employment.

A superseding indictment issued in June charged Hensley with 25 counts of attempting to produce child pornography and inducing or coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing child pornography. child pornography.

Hensley faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison on each count, and up to life, when sentenced Feb. 3, 2023.

This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations; the US Secret Service; the FBI; and the Clarksville Police Department. Assistant US Attorney Monica Morrison is pursuing the case.
