Actress-model Sherlyn Chopra, who made headlines for opposing filmmaker Sajid Khan’s participation in ‘Bigg Boss 16’, has found herself in legal trouble.

Days after his letter to Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, a lawsuit was filed against Chopra for demanding the removal of the “Humshakal” director from the long-running TV show on Colors.

Complainant Faizan Ansari, an entertainment industry professional, filed a police complaint against the actress at Versova Police Station in Mumbai.

During his interaction with the media, Ansari gave his support to the accused #MeToo Khan. He said: “Just being accused of #MeToo does not make Sajid Khan a villain. The verdict on Sajid’s case is not yet out and therefore cannot be blacklisted. until proven guilty by a court.”

The Bollywood socialite also made a shocking accusation against Chopra. He claimed the 38-year-old was ‘notorious’ for blackmailing and honey trapping celebrities and wealthy people.

He further called on Bollywood filmmakers to boycott the actress. “I call on all producers and directors in Bollywood to boycott Sherlyn Chopra who is notorious for blackmailing the biggest celebrities and entrapping them as entrapping innocent rich people,” he said.

Earlier this month, Chopra – who accused Khan of sexual harassment in 2018 – sought Thakur’s intervention to remove the director from the reality show. He urged the I&B minister to either cancel the broadcast of the show or prevent Khan from appearing. She also filed a police complaint against Khan at Juhu Police Station in Mumbai.

Besides Chopra, many celebrities such as Tanushree Dutta, Sona Mohapatra and Ali Fazal objected to the accused #MeeToo’s appearance on the show.

In the wake of the #MeToo movement in 2018, nine women (Chopra, Jiah Khan, Saloni Chopra, Racheal White, Mandana Karimi, Simran Suri, Aahana Kumra, Dimple Paul and journalist Karishma Upadhyaya) in the industry – who have worked with Khan on his various projects – had accused the filmmaker of sexually harassing them. He was accused of flaunting his private parts at parties, asking actresses to send him their nude photos as part of the casting process and watching porn in the presence of women.

Earlier that year, he also resigned as director of “Housefull 4” and was replaced by Farhad Samji. He also faced a one-year suspension from the Indian Film and Television Directors Association.
